The Speaker of the Lok Sabha is the highest authority in the Lok Sabha. The Speaker presides over the meetings of the Lok Sabha, ensures that the rules and procedures of the house are followed, and maintains order in the house. The Speaker also represents the Lok Sabha externally and conducts the impeachment process of the President of India.
